Filizo
Backup your files remotely, on your own machines.

Replicate your files remotely, between your own client and server computers.
Filizo is a local software, to be installed on your client and your serveur. It manages your self-hosted remote backup.
No complex configuration
No IP address configuration.
No ports opening on your router.
Sécure
Your files can be encrypted before being sent over the network (only the client machine will see decrypted content).
Backup with history
If you want, your server machine can store several versions of your files.
Managing your remote backups should not be a complex task.
Filizo enables you to configure backups between machines, with ease.

Filizo in detail
- The Filizo client and server are local applications that you install on your own machines.
- The client's data is backed up to the server every day at a set time.
- The protocol used by Filizo can traverse most internet routers (NAT) without needing to open a port or configure an IP address. Filizo uses a STUN-type P2P protocol to establish its connection.
- A centralized registrar handles the connection between the client and the server.
- Before subscribing to a premium plan, we recommend testing the free version of Filizo to verify the connection between your client and your server on your own network.
- The data backed up by Filizo is never transmitted in plaintext over the network. However, you can choose to store it in plaintext on the server (free version) or to encrypt files with a passphrase (premium version). Encryption is done on the source, so that the server only ever sees encrypted data.
- "Filizo Free" lets you back up the latest version of your data but does not keep any history. With "Filizo Premium", you can set the number of versions to keep and the maximum storage space these versions may occupy. Filizo only stores the files that differ from one version to the next, allowing you to restore your backup to an earlier date.
- Your data, even when encrypted, remains under your control: if needed, you can restore it to your client, but also to your server, using the passphrase. Server-side restoration can be done offline: it uses neither the Filizo registrar nor the internet.
